We are a family run company based in the heart of the Black Country, West Midlands, proprietor Stuart Harper heads the business, assisted by father Terry, himself a professional yacht builder.


Canals have been in Stuart's blood since childhood and Barnowl is the realisation of his dream. The company provide full building and fitting services from bare shell to finished boat, including engine fitting, electrics water systems, woodwork and coach painting, everything in short, to provide your ideal boat, from a traditionally styled tug to a modern narrow boat cruiser.


We pride ourselves on working closely with the customer to meet their individual needs. Our interiors are meticulously planned and executed and represent excellent value for your money.

Our latest project is a 58ft reeves hull with a beta engine; the fitout is in ash with painted panels inset. This boat is a liveaboard boat but is also going to have a work shop at rear because the owner will be doing courses on making different crafts, at the bow there will be a bedroom then into a walk through bathroom into a galley kitchen then next is the dinette and the back half of the boat is the work studio.
